Desde o sul do continente acompanhamos com muita atenção e entusiasmo a mobilização das maiorias que ousaram fazer o que parecia impossível: Denunciar desde Manhattan, o centro nervoso do sistema financeiro mundial, o quanto perverso e excludente é a lógica da especulação econômica. Não haveria lugar melhor para reivindicar a liberdade: No epicentro da opressão. Occupy Wall Street é uma demonstração que as maiorias não podem ser enganadas eternamente, que os poderosos, que por muito tempo controlaram dos seus confortáveis escritórios o destino de 99% da humanidade, não são intocáveis. Occupy Wall Street não ocupou apenas uma praça no centro do sistema, mas sim ocupou milhões de mentes e corações em todas as partes do mundo. Enviou a todos nós uma mensagem que diz: somos uma única humanidade e não concordamos que 1% de magnatas continue especulando com nossas vidas.
Nós somos moradores e ativistas da Ocupação Dandara, somos 5 mil sem-teto vítimas da especulação imobiliária em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brasil. Em abril de 2009 ousamos tomar a atitude de ocupar um terreno de 40 mil hectares que se encontrava abandonado por 40 anos. Desde então somos perseguidos pelos poderosos senhores das grandes empresas da especulação imobiliária, pela polícia, pelos governos e pelo judiciário. Estamos sob a ameaça de um despejo forçado, que coloca a vida de milhares de pessoas em risco. Estamos dispostos a resistir, assim como vocês, porque nossa causa é justa e nossos métodos são pacíficos e solidários. Fazemos parte das maiorias, somos aqueles e aquelas que lutam por um mundo mais justo, sem muros ou opressões.
Gostaríamos de enviar nosso apoio ao Occupy Wall Street, pois vocês não estão sós. Por mais poderosos que os grandes executivos do sistema financeiro possam parecer, eles não suportaram o barulho e a força das multidões.

DECLARATION OF SUPPORT FOR THE WALL STREET OCCUPATION
To the activists of the Wall Street Occupation,
From the South of the continent we follow with attention and enthusiasm the mobilization of the majority who dared to make possible the impossible: to denounce from Manhanttan, the nerve center of world financial capitalism, the perversity and exclusivity of the logic of economic speculation. There could be no better place from where to vindicate freedom: the epicenter of oppression. Occupy Wall Street is a demonstration of the fact that the majorities cannot be deceived forever, that the powerful, who for so long have controlled the destiny of 99% of humanity, are not untouchable. Occupy Wall Street did not occupy only a square in the center of the system, but it has occupied millions of minds and hearts in all parts of the world. It sent to us one message that says: we are one humanity and we do not agree that 1% of magnates continue speculating with our lives.
We are the residents and the activists of Dandara Occupation, we are 5000 homeless victims of real estate speculation in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. In April 2009, we dared to occupy a land of 40 thousand hectares which was abandoned for 40 years. Since then we have been persecuted by the powerful owners of the real estate speculation business, the police, the government and the judiciary. We are under threat of eviction, which has put the lives of thousands at risk. We are willing to resist, like you are doing, because our cause is just and our methods are non-violent and solidary. We are part of the majorities, we are those who struggle for a just world, without walls or oppression.
We would like to send our support to Occupy Wall Street, because you are not alone. The big executives of the financial system may appear powerful, but they cannot stand the noise and the power of the multitudes.
Our faces are anonymous but our hearts are filled with courage to change the world. We will win!
